CRAZY DEALS ON OFFER AS SAMSUNG S9 FLOPS
In a clear sign that Samsung’s “iPhone Killer” phones the new S9 & S9+ are not selling well, literally, less than two months after they arrived on the market, discount offers are flooding in.
Globally top mobile industry experts say that pre-orders for the new phone are down compared to last year – with one saying sales have fallen by half, so undoubtedly this is why the knives are out on the prices.
Barron's in the USA picked up on a note from Arthur Wood Research analyst Jeff Johnson, claiming that things are not going well with the Galaxy S9 and that the handset is already a "dud." In the UK, The Sun daily newspaper said: "SAMSUNG'S Galaxy S9 is already a sales FLOP."
In the USA, AT&T, Sprint and the other major networks are offering US$250 to US$350 discounts from day one, while here in Australia Telstra have upped the ante with an A$500 discount deal in conjunction with JB Hi-Fi.
The Best Australian Deal
JB Hi-Fi is offering a crazy $500 off the price of Samsung’s Galaxy S9 (was A$1,199) or Galaxy S9+ (regularly A$1,349) if you sign up with Telstra as part of the deal.
And if you don’t want Telstra?
Optus is offering a 'Free' Samsung Tab 8.0 tablet theoretically worth A$480 and Virgin Mobile is offering 10% off phone plans. Vodafone appears to be sitting this one out.
